Il Ritratto Segreto dell’Anima is a sentimental novel. It narrates the story of a young Sicilian girl. She was abandoned as a baby in a foster home at the age of three. Her life has been but a long list of misfortunes. For this reason she has learnt by herself to paint without asking for any help.

Mount Etna and Sicily’s beautiful landscapes inspire Lucia’s works.She’s such a beautiful young woman, full of passion and nostalgia. She is in search of her origins. She wants to know the truth about her mother.

But in New York, there’s a mother who is desperately trying to know the whole truth about her daughter. She’s been living in New York for more than twenty years. She left her daughter but it wasn’t her fault. Someone else decided for her. The result was that she couldn’t live a normal life.

But now intense shades start coloring mother’s and daughter’s lives. The truth is near. But there are many enemies that can’t accept that life gives another chance to those desperate women…
